a walk in the park

Some shots at Balboa Park on a beautiful San Diego day. This is a pretty typical outfit choice of mine; lots of layering and my favorite black boots. On days off I like to keep my hair casual in a messy bun which has been super easy since my discovery of the Goody 'Spin Pin'. I'm obsessed!! I literally ALWAYS have at least one somewhere in my bag, and if you haven't tried them yet, you need to!

Blurry nights

I promise my mind wasn't as out of focus as my camera ;)  Here are few pictures from a fun night out. I traipsed around from Hillcrest to La Jolla and then downtown for a night of dancing with my home-girl Meloudi. This outfit was so comfortable and kinda kept me warm, although now I think I'm feeling the effects of wearing open toed shoes in the rain **sniffle**

Trench Love

The rainy weather brings me back to my childhood when life was rough and rain meant building and racing wax paper 'sailboats' and frolicking around in the puddles. Now that I'm (a little) older it's nice to experience some cooler weather in San Diego mostly because for me it means I can bring out the pieces I love that just don't get used as often. A tan or khaki colored trench is a necessary staple in any closet. Cooler weather means lots of layering and I love coming up with the perfect mixture of structured and slouchy, feminine and masculine, an outfit that is both put together and effortless. This one was comfortable and flirty and perfect for a long Saturday lunch with my bestie.

**style tip: If you don't have a black skirt in the silhouette you are envisioning, try layering a shirt over an LBD (little black dress). It's an easy way to make a basic piece feel updated and current, plus you can save money and skip the hassle of trying on clothes.

sparkle and shine

February usually means boots every day but after reading the latest Vogue I have been dying to brighten up my wardrobe and throw some color in the mix.

I love the bright blue slouchy shirt. I prefer to wear it off the shoulder so it drapes longer past the waist and also because I think just a little bit of shoulder is sexy. It also has cute bronze studs down the side and since I am OBSESSED with studs I of course got it in two colors :) I added super distressed off-white skinny jeans and rolled the bottoms to show off the bejeweled sandals and then threw on a striped shimmery tube scarf. I accessorized with gold jewelry to top complete the outfit.

A girl can dream

Rose gold is my favorite trend for spring. I stumbled upon these and had to take a moment to admire them. Burak Uyan Spring 2011

And then my latest love...the Giant City bag by Balenciaga. The oversized rose gold hardware is just enough 'bad-ass-ness' to offset the femininity of the blush color. I think I've died and gone to heaven ;)

I have a major handbag obsession. Does anybody else feel the same way?
One could only be so lucky...

And the style award goes to...Black Swan

Mila Kunis stunned the viewers in this red Alexander McQueen number (RIP). I love the way the dress flows and the hair and make up are perfect allowing her gorgeous face to steal the show.

Preggers and fabulous, Natalie Portman not only looked amazing but ALSO won the SAG award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in Black Swan. She literally glowed and looked like a Greek goddess in this white Azzaro dress. She never fails to amaze me!
