style shout out!

Don't be camera shy...

On a lazy day I love to people watch to see what others are wearing. I always see cute outfits so I'm making it a point to bring around a camera to snap street style pics. This (hopefully) will become a regular installment on Danimal Style, the Style Shout Out!

This post features Roxanne :)  Petal pink shirt, white shorts, gold glitter flats, printed scarf, Henri Bendel rings, MJ bag, watch AND computer cover. OOoooo girl, head to toe perfect.

life's a beach

the Del in the background

At the first sight of sun my sister and I chose Coronado as our destination spot for the day and set off over the bridge to take some pictures. Thank goodness we found a secluded sand dune that was not only quiet but great cover from the wind! Have you ever seen a girl chase a hat down the beach? Funny but NOT cute.

Hat intact, I think this was a pretty successful outfit. I am in love with these cropped white skinny jeans, and combined with my new fav accessories (the hat and espadrilles) and a soft denim over-shirt this outfit was beachy and polished.

perfection

WOW. Everything about this is perfect from the whimsical skirt and crisp structural top to the combat boots and ankle warmers...not to mention the smoldering glare that matches the volcanic rocks and smoke in the background. Did you notice the tiny tulle fringe on the collar and sleeves? Amazing. This look from the Chanel's Fall 2011 ready-to-wear collection caught my eye and in my opinion only verifies Karl's genius.

baby its cold outside

A quick post of a casual outfit I wore to grab some sushi with my sister and a friend. This jacket is the same I did a post on a bit ago here (think biker chic)...and all I can say about dinner is thank goodness for spandex content in pants. Lifesaver :)

color blocking 101

Louis Vuitton

Recently inspired by the Louis Vuitton Spring 2011 collection I tried color blocking. I like mixing such bold colors like jade, purple, and orange, and it's super easy with colorful accessories. I really like the result, what you do think?

a midriff experiment

Now, first let me say I am not a fan of the midriff. But my opinion changed when I discovered this little number last year, and I had to bring it out of my closet to see the light of day for its first public appearance. I am happy to say it went well :) It's an odd sensation to feel the breeze on your exposed stomach but easy to get used to and surprisingly refreshing too. I'm loving the bright colors mixed together with the geometric flower print and the tiny buttons down the back are icing on the cake.

bohemian 'wrap'sody

My inner boho chic came out to play today. I had fun dressing for the sun and wanted to bring out these strappy espadrille wedges; they are perfect for the spring and if you look closely they have little tassels on the zipper pull... SO cute.
I like that the tribal print on the knapsack and jade jewelry combined with my weird affinity for 'evil eye' bracelets brings a little bit of an ethnic feel to this outfit. What do you think?

Hangin' in La Jolla

Some shots of a casual outfit I wore while walking around downtown La Jolla the other day. This lone bench surrounded by a huge bougainvillea plant was screaming to be a part of my mini photo shoot.

I usually never wear hats but this one was so cute I gave it a shot and now it's definitely a spring/summer staple. I found this ring at a small boutique on Girard... I'm loving the unique shape and color of it, so who cares if it turns my finger green?! I'll rock it regardless :)

so hot right now

I am disgustingly in love with this jacket...it is legit. The leather is so thick that when I first tried it on it was actually uncomfortable but after plenty of dedication I have been able to break it in (kind of). The thick zipper hardware, studded epaulette, and belt around the waist are just perfect. I die.
