girly girl

The clutch is a throwback I re-discovered while rummaging around in my closet last week, it's an old piece from a Target collaboration with Hayden-Harnett a few years back. Inside is a killer purple and orange silk print lining and the double flap pockets actually allow for quite a bit of storage space inside. The best part about a handbag this size is that it's an easy transition piece from day to night. I love bringing oldies back into rotation :)

D.I.Y.

Well technically this wasn't 'Do It Yourself', it was more like, 'come up with an idea and watch your best friend and crafty biatch bring it to life'... but who really cares?! Same same but different :)
I <3 you Mel

I love the super-high platform heels that have been debuting lately, unfortunately for a girl of my height the extra inches tend to push me a little too close to the border line of chic vs. tranny. Therefore I rely on good flats to get me through day to day life. We updated these bright orange flats with some hot pink flowers on the toe...just imagine how much more color-blocking you could do with the rest of the outfit!! Just sayin'

More soon, I promise!

a brief love affair

I've been feeling the tribal movement lately and found this skirt to be perfectly on-trend. The bold color combination makes this piece stand out on its own so I chose to pair it with simple basics, an easy black tank and black wedges. What's better? It's from Forever21 so it was wallet friendly too. Score!

I chose to try out two necklaces with this creation...my friend Meloudi of Dalliance Accessories was gracious enough to let me preview a few of her new pieces. Can you tell which one is my favorite?

I love GOOOLLLDDD

Optical illusion? Or am I really as tall as the hallway? Wearing 5 inch heels I can ALMOST touch the ceiling with the top of my head! jk

Here are some photos from a night out in Las Vegas. My little sister and I went to the Paul McCartney concert at the MGM Grand, it was the most amazing concert I have ever been to! I wanted my outfit to be Vegas appropriate a.k.a the shorter the better, but if you can believe it I was one of the more clothed girls out there! Breaking in my new ankle 'cloggies' (clog + booties) may not have been the best idea, I have blisters to prove it, but TOTALLY worth it. I couldn't say 'no' to the gold studs at the bottom! Could you?

BTW: This hairstyle is great if you are growing out your bangs like I am. Try a side-braid to keep your hair out of your gorgeous face : )

Animal Print

I spotted this oversized caftan thing at H&M the other day and had to have it. It ended up being perfect for the dry heat in Las Vegas, it's light and airy and has just enough coverage. I love the animal print mixed with the turquoise color, and after lounging at the pool during the day I just threw on some denim shorts and wedges to walk around and check out the amazing shops. In hindsight wearing heels was NOT a good idea, but they say beauty is pain, right??

OPI Obsession

The new gold "Blasted" nail polish from Sephora by OPI

I LOVE having a fresh manicure (and pedi for that matter). And although going to a salon to get pampered and have someone else do them for me is nice I always find a way to mess them up and chip the color before I can even get home. Instead, since I like to coordinate(?) colors with my outfits and mood, I try to give myself polish updates every few days to keep my nails fresh and colorful. It wasn't until I lined them all up that I realized I have a problem. With this many colors I could probably open up my own salon. Anyone want a flower detail??

you're beautiful

Proenza Schouler PS1

The pearly gates of heaven have parted and beamed down a ray of sartorial light for our viewing pleasure. This bag is to DIE for, I'm serious! My heart stopped beating for a second when I stumbled upon its perfection. Top handle... cross-body strap...and the color is just PEACHY!! (I'm such a nerd) :P

If, like me, you have a handbag problem/obsession you must to have this. NOW. This would make an amazing addition to any wardrobe and only in my wildest dreams would it have a place in my closet/arm/shoulder/hand/LIFE. I'm not the only one with a sick love for handbags, am I?
