Super Seventies

Fashion is always taking trends from the past and updating them with a modern twist. I am sure you have all seen the high-waisted super flared jeans that have made a come back from the 70's, but have you seen ME wearing them? Don't get me wrong, I still love my skinny jeans, but I decided to mix it up and try out this new(ish) trend and it was surprisingly liberating! With a higher rise, ample leg room, and enough detailing to hide your Fupa (if you have to ask, you don't want to know), these must be the most comfortable jeans ever! Go on, try them out!

leather on leather

I played around with this leather-on-leather-(on-leather?) look on a sunny day...not the best idea I've ever had but I love the look so it'll be a good one to remember come the fall. This little gray vest is my new favorite (I've already been called-out for wearing it so often) and I layered it over another gray leather jacket. I love the two tone effect it created. The overall look is tough-girl with the zippered waxy jeans, ankle booties, and graphic T-shirt.

gold accents

I was feeling a little gold crazy the other day and this is what ended up coming together quite effortlessly. This perfectly asymmetrical knit with gold sequin elbow patches was a recent score from the LF Sale in La Jolla, and it also just happens to fall beautifully off the shoulder. I paired it with an oversized gold clutch, and if you look closely, even the shoes have gold studs along the top of the platform. I topped it all off with gold polish on my fingers. Voila!

plain and simple

Jeans and a T-shirt are an easy go-to look for me. With the right accessories you can make the look work in a million different ways so today I went with a leather vest and cuffed the jeans to show off these killer heels. With the intricate chain detailing they are the perfect mix of feminine and bad ass, don't you think?

plaid perfection

While waiting for a delayed flight my sister and I took the opportunity to let loose and be the goofy girls we are! I had so much fun jumping around trying to get that perfect picture mid-air...what do you think?
I've had to travel a bit in the past few months so it's forced me to perfect the art of traveling LIGHT and these are my go-to's! This old Puma duffle and Longchamp bag are my lifesavers... I'm a serious over-packer so it's always a challenge to find the few items that will be chic and versatile. These classic straight leg jeans and Tom's slip-ons are comfortable and the bold plaid shirt pulls together this casual look. LOVE!

girly girl

The clutch is a throwback I re-discovered while rummaging around in my closet last week, it's an old piece from a Target collaboration with Hayden-Harnett a few years back. Inside is a killer purple and orange silk print lining and the double flap pockets actually allow for quite a bit of storage space inside. The best part about a handbag this size is that it's an easy transition piece from day to night. I love bringing oldies back into rotation :)
